Physiological Advantages
Caffeine has been shown to produce numerous benefits to the human body, many of which include increased alertness, improved performance, and wakes you up for the day. The implications? Well, you will be better equipped to tackle the day's challenge ahead of you and get things done!
Caffeine is good for the heart! A study out of Germany found that the amount of caffeine typically in 4 cups of coffee daily helps strengthen heart muscle cell function and prolongs the life of heart muscle cells (O'Callaghan, Muurlink, & Reid, 2018). Staying healthy and active is always a priority that should be taken seriously, and caffeine can certainly provide benefits in doing so!
Benefits with Academics?
Don't feel ready for class or just needlessly falling asleep? Small but regulated doses of caffeine can counteract these instances for a short period of time. Additionally, caffeine consumption in connection with regular exercise has been correlated with positive impacts on the brain which can help to stay focused and productive during your long school days! Just remember to not go overboard...
Benefits with Exercise?
Small, simple doses of caffeine can have acute, yet positive effects on physical performance. For instance, one study found that consuming caffeine during exercise helped to delay the onset of fatigue and use more fat deposits for fuel (Beaumont et al., 2017). This allows individuals to perform longer and more efficiently in their workouts which is always a benefit.

Keep in mind that everyone has different tolerances for caffeine consumption and the effects will differ from person to person. This means that an individual may not receive the same benefits or the extent of those benefits won't be rewarded since we all have unique bodies. Caffeine does not directly create these changes, but they have been shown to be present with positive outcomes. This is something to take into consideration prior to usage of caffeine.
